Expanded web search, enhanced TM maintenance, additional Editor functions, Editing Distance for revisions
The translation memory system Transit NXT from the STAR Group has again been expanded to include many practical functions with Service Pack 16. The web search supports six more services with which you can research meanings and translations directly from Transit. The new additions are ESCO, France Terme, Grand dictionnaire terminologique, Lingua-PC, SCTA Semamdy, and TermCat.
Even more functions are now available for maintaining your valuable translation memory: Find and replace now supports morphology-based searches, already familiar to you from the terminology search. Working with the optional TM Container allows for modifying the attribution for individual units of content (e.g., replacing, adding to, or removing attribute values).
The Transit Editor has again been supplemented with further functions to make switching from other systems even easier. Much has been done in the area of quality assurance and revision as well, including the release of "Editing Distance" for evaluating the quality of machine and human translation.
As always, many other requests from users have been implemented. We cannot list everything here, so look for details in the current Release Notes.
