Live webinar "Reading instead of listening – across the world"

How can I translate subtitles well, ensuring that they are correct?

Translating subtitles? That makes you think of Hollywood and costly film productions. However, the crucial market here revolves around corporate videos, image films and webinars, which have to speak to a global market in many different languages. In these cases, subtitles are a simple and cost-effective alternative to dubbing the film into numerous languages – a process that is both expensive and time-consuming.

Transit supports the translation of subtitles in a multimedia context. The translator can see and hear exactly what they are translating and what it will be used for.

This webinar points out the peculiarities of translating subtitle projects and explains how Transit can support you in this translation.

Agenda

To begin with, we will provide you with a brief overview of the challenge of translating subtitles.

Using a sample project, we will show you that, as with any other project, you can use all of the Transit functions for the translation of subtitles.

Furthermore, you will become familiar with the additional functions that facilitate your subtitle translation. You will see how the integrated media player automatically plays the corresponding film sequence for each text segment.

Target group

For translators and project managers with previous knowledge of Transit

This webinar is aimed at participants who already have experience of working in the Transit editor and with project management.

You are in the right place if you want to find out how you can also offer and carry out subtitle translation.
