Transit's built-in TermStar feature offers the translator and terminologist an ideal tool for managing specific terminology: With a click of the mouse or the press of a key, translators and terminologists can add terms to a terminology database where they are stored for automatic retrieval at any time. A highly convenient and professional working environment is provided for managing terminology. In combination with Transit, the innovative TermStar technology allows multiple dictionaries or databases to be searched simultaneously. Any terms that already exist in the dictionary are highlighted in the text and displayed in the Dictionary window. By downloading WebTerm, you can integrate centrally managed terminology into your local TermStar installation. Once downloaded, you are free to disconnect from the internet and work offline as needed.

TermStar also allows multi-database access to your terminology. Terminology can be stored by subject matter in different databases and secondary dictionaries. Multiple dictionaries and databases can be simultaneously loaded, appearing as a uniform terminology list on your screen. This guarantees optimal terminology support.

TermStar, now with more matches

The Fuzzy Search function in TermStar not only finds exact matches for searched terms, it also looks for any similar entries found in the dictionary. The expanded TermStar data model lets you manage "disallowed" terms, among other features. As in the case of automatic spell checks, the user is notified of negative terms in the text and can correct these immediately.

In addition, the layout of the Terminology Manager can be adapted to the specific needs of each user. Only those entries are displayed that are of importance to the user. This greatly increases his or her concentration ability and delivers maximum-quality results.

TermStar supports more than 180 languages and language variants and runs on different databases: from MS Access to large database servers like Oracle, Sybase and MS-SQL.
