Phase 1 – Workflow analysis

In cooperation with the client, STAR's workflow specialists first analyze the existing workflow at the client site. Each individual step in the processing of information is closely analyzed and chronologically ordered. Existing workflow-related working conditions within the company are recorded:

• Routines

  • Continuously repetitive processes

  • Identical or largely similar work steps and processes

• Technical and system-based requirements

  • Software in use

  • Interfaces to existing systems

  • Work environment

  • Manual process steps

• Personnel status

  • Personnel involved in the workflow

  • Interfaces to other departments and staff

  • Structure of rights and responsibilities

• Work formats and storage systems

  • File formats for workflow inputs

  • File formats for workflow outputs (results, data for archiving, etc).

  • Data sources

  • Data storage location

• Target languages in the translation process
