Separation of structure, content and layout

Technical information is recorded in GRIPS exclusively in topic-specific information structures, regardless of later publication structure or the layout of the information source. For each subsequent publication, high-performance conversion functions allow fully automatic classification of content into media-specific publishing structures such as print format, CD-ROM, internet, internet-capable mobile phones, diagnostics systems and control panel displays. A fully automatic generation process allows automated publication with STAR SPIDER in an unlimited number of predefined layout specifications (e.g., operating instructions or service information) depending on the audience or situation. It is no longer necessary to save the resulting document, as it can be re-created automatically at any time as needed.
